RSC To Transfer 6 Plays To London In 2016

Following the four Shakespeare history plays, King & Country: Shakespeare’s Great Cycle of Kings, which kicked off 2016 at the Barbican Theatre, the touring production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Play for the Nation visits the Barbican for a week of performances in May, with London amateurs from the Tower Theatre joining the cast as the Rude Mechanicals, and pupils from Eastbury Community school and Beam Primary school in Barking and Dagenham playing Titania’s fairy train. Dominic Cooper Returns To The Stage In The Libertine

tumblr_inline_o1pmgsiwVR1rgiv1h_500Dominic Cooper returns to the stage this year to play debauched 17th Century rake the Earl of Rochester in The Libertine.  This sexually charged masterpiece by award-winning playwright Stephen Jeffreys will play a limited run as part of the 2016 summer season at Bath Theatre Royal from 31 August to 17 September prior to the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket from 22 September to 3 December with opening night for press on 27 September.
